Inclusive Learning

Our students bring a wide range of strengths, learning profiles, and support needs. We provide ongoing classroom differentiation, alongside targeted individual or small-group support where required, so that every student can access and participate in learning on the same basis as their peers.

Our Inclusive Learning program is committed to:
• Belonging and wellbeing for all students
• Strong partnerships with families
• Evidence-based teaching practices
• Supporting students with disability, additional needs, and learning differences within their classroom wherever possible.

Friday Friends
: This small-group program supports students with additional needs who may benefit from additional guidance in friendships, social skills, and emotional regulation.

Extension
: Extension continues to be delivered within classrooms through differentiated teaching and with the guidance of our Extension Teacher. Additional targeted writing and mathematics extension opportunities are provided as follows:
• Prep - Year 1: In-class extension led by classroom teachers
• Year 2: Weekly in-class extension support with our Extension Teacher
• Year 3: Weekly sessions with our Extension Teacher
• Years 4 - 6: Fortnightly sessions of a longer duration to allow for deeper inquiry and project-based work.
• Morning tea session: optional drop-in sessions to provide extra time if students need to complete tasks.

Reader’s Cup
: Participation will be offered to keen readers in Year 5 and 6 and additional academic competitions will be considered throughout the year where suitable for our students. Students may be identified for extension through academic data or teacher nomination, recognising that strengths and talents can present in diverse ways.
